AFT-WV hires new Member Benefits Coordinator

Welcome wishes to the newest member of the AFT-WV staff!

Brandon Tinney has been hired as the AFT + Member Benefits Coordinator. Tinney, a former teacher in Nicholas and Putnam counties as well as former president of AFT-Nicholas County, assumed his duties for the state federation in September. He will be traveling across the state, informing and assisting members regarding the numerous money-savings benefits and programs available to
them through AFT.

“Teaching is the only profession I’ve known, so it’s a little scary to try something different. However, I’ve been a part of AFT-WV as a member and a leader for a long time, and I’m very excited to work for my profession in this new capacity. I can’t wait to meet my union brothers and sisters from across the state,” remarked Tinney.

Among the most valuable of the benefits available is the $1 million in professional liability coverage, which is provided to all members at no additional cost. In today’s litigious society, this protection is more important than ever. The coverage also includes protection from “failure to educate” claims.

Additionally, upon joining AFTWV, all new members are entitled to $12,000 in free term life insurance for one year. Simply complete the life insurance activator form and return to AFT-WV. After the one year, you will receive a letter explaining the cost if you
want to continue. There are no phone solicitations and no hassle!
